Yes, our chargers are designed to be compatible with most electric vehicles, including models from Tesla, BMW, Nissan, Audi, Jaguar, and more. Each product page specifies the vehicles that the charger supports.
How long does it take to charge an electric vehicle?
To know how long to charge a car, you need to know the OBC(on board charger) power of the car, the car battery capacity, the charger power. The hours to fully charge a car =battery kw.h/obc or charger power the lower one. For e.g, the battery is 40kw.h,obc is 7kw, charger is 22kw, the 40/7=5.7hours. If the obc is 22kw, then 40/22=1.
The green light flashes continuously after charging is complete. What does it mean?
Please download the app and connect the device via Wi-Fi. This allows you to control the charger using the mobile app.
Can I use household electricity to charge my car?
Yes, but you must ensure the cable can support a 32A current. It is recommended that the household cable have a diameter of 3 × 6 mm².
Can the charger be derated to 20A? Can I use an IFTTT applet to control it?
Yes, the current can be adjusted via the Tuya Smart Life app.
Does the charger comply with UK standards and carry CE marking?
Yes, it complies with all UK standards and is CE marked. It also carries the UK CA certification and includes all relevant test reports.
Is the charger app-controlled, and can I schedule charging for nighttime use?
Yes, the charger is app-controlled and allows you to set a charging schedule.
Where does the charger draw power from to charge the car?
You can use household or office electricity. However, ensure the cable supports a 32A current. A household cable diameter of 3 × 6 mm² is recommended.
Does the charger need to be connected directly to the electricity meter?
No, a direct connection to the electricity meter is not required unless you want load balancing. Currently, our equipment does not support load balancing with electricity meters.
Can I set default charging times to take advantage of my EV tariff? Can I override the schedule if needed? What is the Wi-Fi function for?
Yes, you can set a charging start time to align with your tariff. If you need to change it, simply update the setting in the app, which will override the previous schedule. The Wi-Fi function allows the device to connect with the app for remote control.
My tariff is cheaper between midnight and 5 AM. Can I set the charger to start only during that time even if I plug it in earlier?
Yes. When you get home, plug in the charger and connect it to your car. Then, use the app to set the start time for charging, such as 12:00 AM.
If my car’s battery is low and I need to charge it before the scheduled time, can I start charging immediately?
Yes, you can start charging immediately by manually starting the device through the app.
I have a heavy-duty supply cable already fixed to a granite wall. Can I use this existing cable instead of the one provided?
Yes. You can use your existing cable by connecting it to an industrial three-pin female socket. Then, use an industrial three-pin plug to connect the charger’s input cable. This setup allows easy integration.
Will this charger work with an Audi Q4 e-tron?
Yes, as long as the car has a Type 2 charging port, it is compatible with our device.
